Jump setting speeds ...

Jump setting speeds up the offense. It also makes it slightly harder for the opposing blockers to read where the set is going to go (since for a backset, all you have to do is arch back, whereas if you are on the ground, you need to change where the ball contacts in relation to your head, since your feet are rooted to the ground). It's obvious that she can jump set (since she does it sometimes), I'm just not really sure why she doesn't do it all the time.

if she were to jump set when setting anything quick, like a 1, when she's in the front row she'd be even better. Since she can dump, if she jump set it would get 1 of the blockers to jump w/ her to block her hit then if she set a 1, her middle would only have 1 blocker. Also, when she's back row, if she were to jump set, it's a lot harder to predict where the ball will go as a blocker so if she jump sets it'll give each hitter only one solid block, then another that's just jumping and hoping.

If you want to play div I, you better start jump setting on 99% of your sets... and you don't need to hold your arms out on your follow through.... you're strong enough..just set and bring back, so you can get low and cover your set

Not bad. She runs under the ball and has to swing behind her, something I used to do, but it's easy to fix. Hitting is twice as hard if you just stay behind the ball. And even if the set is a little high, you can just wait a second to time it right.

well its because she's not a middle hitter... she's an outside hitter, so she only gets the high ones... usually only the tall people get middle positions w/ the kills and fast ones. much more fun i'd say :)

I don't know if that is right for every sport, but for volleybal it's absolutely so... Just watch this, every guy at the age of 14 can hit such balls... But hey, for womens volleybal it's really good though...

She is a larger player... So the force she its the ball with and how she moves is the way the ball gets its float... But that serve is not that hard to do... If you are a deece volleyball server you can serve to every position using that serve... If you want a hard serve to learn and get really good at learn the Spin Serve that is what I like to do.

Well it seems she doesnt put any top spin on it.. To me it looks like a few lucky float serves with just rare paths through the air. If you dont know how to do it, its about not getting any spin at all. By that you let the air flows in the hall control the ball and its therefore much harder to read.

I'm trying to figure out the movement of that serve. It looks like it hangs a bit, and then it just drops. Judging by the path of the ball, it seems like she puts top spin on the ball. The thing about most top spin balls though is that they follow an easy path for passers to follow. The thing about her serve is that it seems like it just drops after it reaches it's apex. Anyone know what she's doing? Maybe care to explain? I'd like to learn this serve.

the most important thing when serving is to get it on the left side cuz the angle/distance the ball is from the setter is the key if the ball is right in front of the setter theres a good play(when you serve to the right) but when the ball is behind the setter he has to adjust to it turn to the spiker and stay put wich in most cases is really hard(thats wat happends when u serve left)

Volleyballrox18 ; floaters are harder to dig than ones top spin. jump serves can be easier to pass than floaters. The ball typically comes in more of straight line to passers and players can develop confidence passing topspin serves that come right to them. ----what a float serve is---- A float serve is serving the ball in a way that makes it move so that it is harder to tell where it's going. The ball is harder to track and passers must focus harder to pass the ball.
