Rest In Peace: Chloe Erin Newman September 28th, 2000- June 12th, 2008. She was a very good friend of mine who had AML. Ever since she died, even BEFORE she died I've been wanting a cure for cancer. Every child that has it goes through a lot, Chloe did. She lived to be 7 years old, and it breaks my heart to know that she won't get to get married, have kids, or die naturally. I miss her so much. What a moving video. My wife and I went through cancer with our 4 year old and it was really rough. We are now 4 years into it and he is in remission..thank God. I cried like a baby when I watched this video. We are done finally with chemo and we only have to take our son to the hospital clinic for blood work now. But, it hurts to see new faces there all the time. This holds a special place in our hearts and we are working on its behalf where we live in Ohio. Thank you for the video & God bless

My daughter Samantha was born with Trisomy 13 last Thursday Oct. 30. She passed away in our arms on Sunday Nov. 2. We are so glad we never new ahead of time. We were able to hold her, bathe her, dress her and change her diapers. Her big brother and sister were allowed to help and we were given a hospice room where we could all be with her. We just learned the baby I am expecting also has Trisomy 13-- and again we'll leave it in God's hands how long with get with this little one. my son used 2 get off the bus and count every step outloud till he reached the front door. if his dad would playfully(?) miscount or jump over a step , you would have thought, i had slapped him in the face. this is some of my personal experience. I had to laugh when his supervisor says "we have to watch ... a it's every day like that or it will throw his routine off and we don't want to do that." that is a great man. congratulations. i hope my 14 yr old finds such help in his future

its not a disease. its a syndrome. a set a behaviors which in many cases affect learning, social skills, and a persons overall ability to deal positively w/ the world. the man in this video was given a lot of help to function in a way that most of us take for granted. when the supervisor mentioned that he called johnathon b4 he got to work if there were going to be changes in his routine, that is a very important insight. and a wonderfully caring act.

Girls, I caught a snip of a video that claimed alopecia was caused by an overactive immune system that leads your body into attacking your hair follicles. I drink a lot of herbal tea, and when I start to feel under the weather that includes elderberry, kombucha, and echinacea. I was wondering if any of you have that habit in common with me? (if there might be a connection to what we eat/drink, and not stress, which is usually presumed to be the culprit)??

You guys should also consider LACE WIG. You don't have to remove it for up to a month and it has an invisible hairline really pretty. Now you can get it at $300. sometimes less. Best luck.

Hi, Your treatment may have worked for you but it may not for everyone else. There is NO cure to alopecia and anything that does help is not guaranteed to keep alopecia away forever. Im not saying people shouldn't try things, cause in some cases it works, but it can fall out again and especially for AU sufferers there is even less chance. Also bullshit mindset? People do learn to live with it and thats healthy, better than people always getting their hopes up by people like yourself.

I have had Alopecia Universalis for 5 years, and I've noticed it is a genetic predisposition combined with stress,toxins,an infection, or some other sickness.(genetics combined with one or more of the others listed)...it started with alopecia areata, then totalis, then AU. I also have alopecia. I have had it since I was 9 months old. I have come to a stage where I am comfortable with it and I don't care what people think of me. You'd be surprised how alot of people have been quite accepting of it. Anyone who has a problem with being bald should try to talk to other alopecians and share their experiences. I had no one to talk to for 28 years. I would love to get in contact with other alopecians around the world.

I have alopecia...and i dont know if you do, snowingsnow, but when you actually live with it, its difficult to face the fact that you have it and show the world you dont care. When you have a chance to wear a wig, what would you go for, looking bald or looking normal. I just wish i could be courageous enough to go outhere and show people i dont care, but its hard.
