Be patient! Work it in slowly. Don't put a lot of oil on the glove, just try to form the pocket as best you can. Work the "hinge" pretty good and the rest should come naturally. Only oil it as it gets dry (rough to the touch). If you try any "quick fixes" you can ruin the glove. Good luck, you'be got a great glove.

It's very tough to "re-break" a glove once it's broken in the wrong way. However, you can try to beat down the pocket toward the base of the fingers. Also, make sure your squeezing AROUND the ball. Often times you squeeze INTO the ball and as a result, ruin your pocket. Another problem can be the leather quality. A glove that is soft off the rack is more prone to becoming floppy and break in wrong. I'm not very familiar with the Helix series, but that could be another reason. Good Luck.

The only real good way to break in a glove is to just play catch with it, i had one glove and i oileditabout5 times and the glove was already worn out and breaking after about 1 season, then i got a new glove and shaped it myself just by playing catch and it's lasted over 2seasons without any breaking.

Look, you have no idea how to teach a "drive." You use that word and then say "turn." In the span of a 4 second play, why don't you discuss your means of having the child assess his dominant or submissive position. The point is that what you teach is a) illogical and b) fundamentally terrible. If you want to teach an actual drive block, let me know. Your coaching method can be summed up as "Let's hope the defender doesn't go here." And by "here" I mean "nowhere" because there's no hole.

You can teach your kids whatever you want. But, God Blessed, do not post this on the internet as if you know something more than any completely average coach. Technically, the hands do not punch on the first step, it is the second. But, when teaching 10 year olds, that makes it too complicated. If you get them to block correctly, the hands will punch on step 2 but it feels like one move. I have coached a lot of kids, and have found that breaking it down this way is easiest. Also, the reason I teach the head slide to youngsters, is so they start with the drive on a reach, and if they get dominant position they can turn their man as they drive.

OK,OK!!! Everyone calm down. ND, we are talking about 10 year olds here. Our main goal is for them to be physical. First, if your facemask is low and you punch with your hands the pads will follow. I don't know why you would not have them punch. 2nd, any time your back is to the ball (or hole) and your man is in front of you, you are in good shape, even if you cannot drive them out. 3rd, of course you down block away from the ball carrier, the idea is to cut off penetration.

To "slide your head" is what a monkey might try to teach someone. To "swing you butt" towards the whole is an idiotic thing to coach. Fact. (Okay, just so you know... if your lineman is an actual real live sloth, you might need to tell him to put "his butt to the hole." Otherwise, teaching them to ACTUALLY block might be a good idea. I also I dont think that most major league pitchers have the qualifications to comment on this.....thier logic comes from "conventional wisdom" and is rooted in emotion and with no understanding of how the body works or how stress effect the body. The Tom houses(dont' throw CB's until you can shave) and many others that have looked deeper will tell you that they were wrong about their statements. Just a different point of view..........we all need to research and look deeper into these issues

growth plates if thrown with proper movements of the arm.....most guys that I have seen that have hurt themselves either throw sliders or what they call curveballs (really a poor slider)by getting fingers under the ball or around the ball at extension. Young players should be with someone that knows what to look for (video) and monitor young players when they begin to throw curveballs.........also work specific strenght exercises that work your range of motion from supination to pronation

Most of these guys are right....you can hurt yourself if you are throwing a curvball incorrectly. However, in my 15 year experience I have seen 10x the arm injuries from throwing fastballs than curevballs (poor mechanics, lack of strength, range of motion) so let's teach those the proper mechanics with the curveball like we do with throwing FB's....the curveball may promote a little more stress going from a supinated postion to a pronated position but you will not likely injure the ACL or

Don't be stupid and continue to throw those pitches until your muscles are fully developed. Not trying to bring you down, but I've seen young pitchers have elbow surgery because of this very reason. You may not be part of the "statistic", but you don't want to take that chance if you want to try and pitch in high school, college, or even the pros.

Just because you haven't hurt your arm doesn't mean that you won't down the road. Also, even if you don't ever hurt your arm, it doesn't mean that other people don't. There is no "correct" way to throw a curve ball that does not injure an undeveloped arm. So this "crap" is helpful information, and you are just a dumbass that don't know shit

The problem with Curveballs is they work very well against kids. They should be banned in every league up until 16u. Shame on any coach who is willing to risk the future health of their pitcher to get a few more outs per game. Just ban the pitch at the earlier ages, and it's a level playing field for all.
